Designer and model GiGi Paris, longtime girlfriend of actor Glen Powell, is offering clues into the ongoing saga surrounding Powell’s film “Anyone But You.” Paris unfollowed Powell on Instagram, and posted a video walking down a tree-lined street in New York City, captioned “know your worth & onto the next.”

Powell currently still follows Paris on Instagram. The couple were in a relationship for six years, and reps for neither have confirmed the split, though commenters feel that Paris’ post speaks volumes.Regardless of the truth behind the convoluted situation, social media users are applauding Paris’ tasteful show of self love.

How We Got Here

Powell will star alongside actress Sydney Sweeney in the film, and the pair of costars have attracted viral attention over their chemistry onscreen and off. Initially, fans of the romantic comedy genre were excited to see a film with promising lead actors who had good chemistry. The photos and videos of the pair rapidly sparked an online debate on whether the phenomenon was excellent film marketing, or a cheating scandal. Sweeney has been engaged to fiancé Jonathan Davino since last year.

The rumors surrounding the film are being equated to those of the 2000s cult favorite “Mr. and Mrs. Smith,” which starred Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt. Pitt was married to actress Jennifer Anniston at the time, and the film ultimately led to their divorce.

Some social media users continue to equate Sweeney’s alleged relationship to Powell to the actions of her “Euphoria” character, who was involved in an affair. Twitter users are reminding the internet to understand the equal role in the situation that Powell and Sweeney could have played, and not to lean into misogyny against the actress.

Internet Reactions

The internet is a notorious rumor mill, so Paris’ post appearing to confirm suspicions continues to shock social media.

Others recall a recent quote from Hugh Grant, in which the actor stated that he missed the era of movie sets without iPhones to capture the secrets. One Twitter user joked that Sweeney and Powell’s movie could change that.

The romantic comedy from Will Gluck (of “Easy A” and “Friends With Benefits” success) follows the enemies-to-lovers reunion of two former college rivals at a former classmate’s destination wedding. It is based on Shakespeare’s comedy “Much Ado About Nothing.” Filming wrapped recently after several months in Sydney, Australia.

Powell has not commented on the cheating allegations, and neither has Sweeney at this time. “Anyone But You” does not have a confirmed release date at this time.
