Star Wars fans can relate to the heartbreak conveyed through Gotye’s viral hit, “Somebody That I Used Know,” so they used the song as a platform and mapped their own lament onto it’s crooning and addicting melody.It’s a tale of nostalgia between a fan (who turns into Darth Vader) and George Lucas, the misguided creator of this alternate universe, that will have devout followers chanting in turn, “What happened to the Star Wars that I used to know?”
In remaking the song, Teddie Films has also reconstructed the oddly mesmerizing video for Star Wars purposes, with Kimbra’s stand-in looking quite scruffier.
According to the creators’ TeddieFilms YouTube account, they’ve submitted the song to iTunes and are waiting for it to be released. Sounds like an instant classic parody with viral potential.
