Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez are preparing for one of the most high-profile weddings of the decade. After getting engaged in 2023 during a European vacation, the couple is reportedly set to host a multi-day celebration in Venice beginning June 24, according to the Associated Press.
While the Amazon founder and the Emmy-winning journalist have kept many details under wraps, what has emerged paints the picture of a wedding fit for royalty, with a focus on local culture, A-list guests and minimal disruption to the historic Italian city.
A Venetian Affair
After months of speculation, including rumors of a $600 million Aspen wedding, Venice Mayor Luigi Brugnaro confirmed that the nuptials will take place in the famous canal city.
“The many speculations and fake news circulating about Jeff Bezos’ wedding are completely unfounded,” Brugnaro said in a statement. “Only 200 guests will be invited, and the event will not disturb the city.”
To ensure a respectful experience, the couple is reportedly sourcing 80% of their wedding needs from Venetian vendors. Rosa Salva, Venice’s oldest pastry maker, is crafting sweet treats for guests, while artisan glassmakers from Laguna B are contributing custom gifts.

“I don’t see how an event with 200 people can create disruptions,” Salva told the Associated Press. “It’s prestigious that a couple like this, who can go anywhere in the world, are getting married in the city.”

The exact venue has yet to be confirmed. Some reports point to Bezos’ $500 million superyacht, Koru, while others speculate the ceremony may be held at San Giorgio Maggiore or the Scuola Grande della Misericordia.
The Guest List
Much like their glamorous engagement parties, the wedding guest list is expected to feature a who’s who of tech titans, celebrities and world figures.
Bezos and Sánchez previously celebrated their engagement aboard a yacht with guests like Bill Gates, and later at a Beverly Hills party hosted by Diane von Furstenberg, which included Oprah Winfrey, Barbra Streisand and Salma Hayek Pinault.
For the wedding, PEOPLE reported that Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, Karlie Kloss and Joshua Kushner have all received invitations. Sánchez’s close friends Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner, along with fellow Blue Origin spaceflight passengers Katy Perry and Gayle King, are also expected.
The couple has asked guests to forgo traditional gifts in favor of charitable donations. Guests will be staying across five major Venetian hotels, including the Aman, where George and Amal Clooney married in 2014, as well as the Gritti Palace, the St. Regis, Belmond Cipriani and Hotel Danieli.
Who’s Planning It All
Bezos and Sánchez enlisted the expertise of Lanza & Baucina Limited, an event planning firm with experience coordinating high-profile weddings in Venice, including those of the Clooneys and Hayek-Pinaults.

In a statement to Page Six, the planners emphasized their goal to respect Venice’s delicate ecosystem. “Instructions from our client and our own guiding principles were abundantly clear: minimize disruption to the city, respect its residents and institutions, and employ locals in the crafting of the events.”
They also noted that even before protests against over-tourism intensified, the couple had committed to supporting Venice through nonprofit efforts and local engagement.
The Dress
As for what Sánchez will wear, the final look is still under wraps. However, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour is reportedly advising on the dress, and Oscar de la Renta has been floated as a potential designer.
In March 2025, the couple was seen visiting a Dolce & Gabbana store in Milan, fueling further speculation about the bridal look.
