Author Jennette McCurdy announced she will release her third book, “the examined year: A Self-Discovery Tool,” on Dec. 8.
The new release takes a different shift for the former actress, compared to her last two major hits.
Billed as a guided journal and goal-planning system, the book draws on McCurdy’s personal introspective practices to help readers abandon performative goals and build a life rooted in their authentic core values.
The upcoming release follows the blockbuster success of McCurdy’s first two publications. Her 2022 debut memoir, “I’m Glad My Mom Died,” became a cultural phenomenon, selling millions of copies and spending more than a year and a half on The New York Times bestseller list.
She followed up her memoir in January with her debut fiction novel, “Half His Age,” a coming-of-age story that quickly secured a spot on the Publishers Weekly bestseller list. “the examined year” will arrive just ahead of the new year.
