Jojo Siwa has made her claim in a breakup.
In a video posted to her mom’s Instagram Story on Monday December 18th, the ‘Dance Mom’ alum confirmed she split with TikToker Avery Cyrus.
The 19-year-old stated “Cause I got used!” as she was pacing a room back and forth. The singer added, “For views and for clout, and IÂ got tricked into being told that I was loved, and I got f—ing played!”
Jojo did not name anyone in the Instagram video, but many people online had an idea of who she was talking about. Avery Cyrus and Jojo Siwa were claimed to be dating back in August of 2022 when the two filmed a TikTok video together. After only three months of dating, the two have called it quits.
On Dec. 17, Cyrus shared a TikTok, which included footage from a recent cruise—and in one snippet, JoJo was seen holding up an arcade game prize, telling her, “This is my ‘Sorry for Breaking Up With You’ present.”

After one user commented, “Now I just want to know why,” Avery responded, “We decided that we are better off as friends! We are both so young and still just trying to figure our stuff out!”

In a conversation with PEOPLE Cyrus stated, “From my perspective, me and JoJo left on great terms and are still friends. The relationship was very real and I have nothing but love for JoJo and her family,” adding, “I’m still very hurt that JoJo broke up with me and am saddened and confused by the situation.”

Throughout the relationship, Siwa and Cyrus put a lot of their relationship on social media. Some people saw a post at Chuck E. Cheese and even a Disney World date where Cyrus asked Siwa to be her girlfriend.
Siwa shared the trip on social media with snapshots of the entire experience.
Even on YouTube, Siwa shared the relationship with an onscreen kiss with “Long story short, Avery and I, if you can’t tell already, we really, really like each other,” said the star. “At least, I think she really really likes me!”
Back in January of 2021, Siwa came out to the pubic in a series of social media posts on TikTok and Instagram. From posts like lip synching to Lady Gaga’s ” Born this Way” wearing a shirt from the TikTok group Pride House LA, many began to wonder about her sexuality.

In a large portion of 2022, fans saw Siwa speak out more and more on LGBTQ+ issues and even proudly display flags at her concerts. Many fans have gone on to defend Siwa for her claims of being used for clout. Others are pointing out how many relationships Siwa has been in just 2022 alone.
There has been no update from Jojo Siwa since making this comment.
