Josh “Bru” Brubaker, the popular Audacy host and TikTok star, recently shared his reflections on attending the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris and offered some intriguing predictions for the 2028 Los Angeles Games.

Attending the Olympics this year was nothing short of a dream come true for Brubaker. He described the experience as profoundly different from watching the Games from home. “As patriotic as we feel watching from our couches, being on the ground in Paris was an entirely different level of excitement,” Brubaker said. “There’s something incredibly beautiful about seeing every country come together for this global event. Paris as the backdrop made my first Olympics experience truly special. I mean, watching beach volleyball with the Eiffel Tower in the background? It was insane.”

Among the standout athletes of this year’s Games, Brubaker highlighted several individuals who made a significant impact. For the United States, Brubaker praised Gabby Thomas for her exceptional performance. “Gabby Thomas really exploded at this year’s Olympics,” he said. “She’s insanely fast and a fantastic role model. It’s wonderful to see her shine on such a big stage.”

Brubaker also noted the impressive feats of Swedish pole vaulter Armand “Mondo” Duplantis, who continued to break his own world record. “Mondo is not only a record-breaker but also has this striking resemblance to Timothy Chalamet and Jeremy Allen White,” Brubaker remarked. “He’s definitely a star to watch.”

Additionally, Brubaker mentioned a Turkish shooter who gained fame for his unconventional pose—keeping his hand in his pocket—which quickly became a viral meme. “The Turkish shooter who kept his hand in his pocket is someone people will definitely keep up with,” he said. “His quirky pose made him an instant sensation.”

Looking forward to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, Brubaker is optimistic about the prospects for the U.S. team. “My prediction for LA is that America will clean up in the medal count,” Brubaker said confidently. “Every athlete I interviewed in Paris expressed a strong desire to win medals on home soil. There’s a lot of enthusiasm and determination.”

Brubaker also entertained the possibility of celebrities making an impact in the Games. “Dr. Dre mentioned he’s seriously considering competing in archery,” he revealed. “And who knows? We might even see Snoop Dogg in badminton. It would be amazing to see a celebrity qualify for a sport!”

Reflecting on his own journey from aspiring sports broadcaster to working with NBC, Brubaker shared his sense of accomplishment. “When I first started my career, I wanted to be a sports broadcaster,” he said. “I went down the music route and kept sports as a hobby. But to dive into the sports realm with something as monumental as the Olympics has been incredible.”

Brubaker acknowledged the difficulty of putting his journey into words but expressed profound gratitude for the opportunities that have come his way. “If you had asked Baby Bru at 18, when I started on the radio, if he’d end up working at the Olympics one day, he’d probably have said, ‘Yes, of course!’” Brubaker reflected. “Looking back, I don’t know what gave me that confidence, but I truly believe that dreaming big at the start of my career has been crucial to where I am now.”

As Brubaker looks ahead to future Olympic Games and his own career, his enthusiasm and optimism continue to shine through, making him a prominent voice in both sports and entertainment.
