Julie Chrisley’s family is voicing their disappointment following a judge’s decision to uphold her eight-year prison sentence. The Chrisley Knows Best alum appeared in a downtown Atlanta courtroom on September 25, where her sentence was confirmed, prompting an emotional response from her family.
In a video shared by Entertainment Tonight, Julie’s eldest children, Savannah, and Chase Chrisley, stood alongside their family attorney, Alex Little, to address the media. Savannah described the ruling as “100 percent an injustice.” She expressed her determination to advocate for her parents, stating, “I will continue to fight for my parents. And I will be as loud as I can possibly be because the judge clearly showed today that she was using my outspokenness to change a system that is so broken.”
Savannah went on to challenge the judge’s assertion that her previous comments about her parents’ legal troubles were “not factual.” She asked, “I would love to know what steps she has taken to verify or maybe see if the information is accurate. This judge has not done her research when it comes to the conditions [of the prisons my parents are in].”
In her remarks, Savannah emphasized that her advocacy for prison reform extends beyond her family’s situation, highlighting the plight of “thousands of other individuals who are incarcerated.” She conveyed her deep disappointment over the judge’s ruling, adding, “We are moving forward with appealing this sentence, and that will happen within the next 14 days.”
Chase Chrisley also expressed frustration, echoing Savannah’s sentiments about the injustices their family faces. Their attorney, Alex Little, remarked on the team’s disappointment with the ruling. He stated, “I think we have a judicial system where if Ms. Chrisley wins an appeal, her guidelines are substantially reduced and the court doesn’t give her a day of credit. I think when you just talk about public confidence in the courts, it’s a concerning result.”
Little criticized what he termed “personal attacks” against the family, asserting that such behavior is uncalled for in a legal proceeding. Julie Chrisley and her husband, Todd Chrisley, were sentenced to a combined 19 years in prison in November 2022 for fraud and tax evasion. The couple began their sentences in January 2023, with Julie serving her seven-year term at the Federal Medical Center Lexington in Kentucky and Todd at the Federal Prison Camp Pensacola in Florida, where he is serving a 12-year sentence.

“We’re pleased that the Court agreed that Julie’s sentence was improper, but we’re obviously disappointed that it rejected Todd’s appeal,” Little stated. He added, “With this step behind us, we can now challenge the couple’s convictions based on the illegal search that started the case.” The family remains hopeful for positive developments in the ongoing legal battles.
