As the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard defamation trial continues for its sixth and final week, model Kate Moss testified in court, brought in by Johnny Depp’s legal team. As you might be aware, the defamation trial sets to prove if Johnny Depp abused Amber Heard as she claimed in an op-ed she wrote about being a victim of domestic abuse. Depp’s team brought Moss to discuss a rumor that Moss had been pushed down the stairs by Depp in the 1990s. Heard had referenced Moss, saying “I just, in my head, instantly think of Kate Moss and the stairs and I swung at him.”

Moss, however, denied this and recounted a time she slipped down the stairs in Jamaica, which she visited during the relationship she had with Depp. “He never pushed me, kicked me, or threw me down any stairs,” she said to the jury in a video call. After her testimony, she began to trend online, which is unsurprising as the trial has trended online for its entirety. With the ability to stream it almost everywhere, including TikTok, many have discussed the trial throughout its entirety.

Some online believed that Moss’ willingness to testify proved his innocence. “Johnny Depp being on good terms with Winona Ryder, kate moss, and Vanessa Paradis, while Amber Heard’s ex-boyfriends/girlfriends don’t want to testify for her and don’t want to hear about her anymore, is everything you need to know about this case,” one person tweeted, with over 6,000 retweets. “Kate Moss is a legendary model and has never testified in any court proceedings before. The fact that she agreed to take the time to testify on behalf of Johnny Depp, thirty years after they dated, speaks volumes,” another person wrote.

Even model Naomi Campbell came out in support of Moss, reposting the story online and writing “Yes Wagon, tell it!” It is expected that the trial will end and jurors will begin deciding this weekend. Although the trial revolved around domestic abuse, it is not a domestic abuse case, but instead whether or not Heard was lying when she wrote about the abuse she faced from Depp.
