Kim Kardashian is navigating the complexities of balancing her own busy career while stepping into the role of “momager” for her 11-year-old daughter, North West. In a clip shared with PEOPLE ahead of the premiere of The Kardashians season 6 on Hulu, the SKIMS co-founder, 44, expressed both excitement and trepidation about her daughter’s rapidly blossoming career.
During a conversation with her mother, Kris Jenner, and sister, Khloé Kardashian, Kim revealed just how much North’s career has added to her already packed schedule. “I thought I was busy before. North, me having to be her momager right now is crazy. It’s just, it was not on my list. It was not on my Bingo card for this year,” Kim said in the clip, acknowledging how her daughter’s growing career demands attention. “It’s a lot of work,” Kris Jenner chimed in. “It’s a lot of energy.”
Kim agreed, joking, “And I’m not ready,” as Khloé responded with, “You’re like, I have my own s— to manage.”
Despite the challenges, Kim remains committed to supporting her daughter’s ambitions while navigating the intricacies of managing a young career. “If she has a shoot, I have to be there all day, so it’s like her or me,” Kim explained, further underlining the time commitment required for North’s work.
In a confessional, the reality star opened up about the delicate balance she is trying to maintain between her daughter’s career and ensuring she has a healthy childhood. “I’m really conflicted on my daughter’s career, so we’re going to talk about that soon,” Kim shared. “I just really want to make sure that everything’s really well balanced. All of the work experiences are balanced out with just enough fun life experiences. I just want balance.”
North has had an eventful year so far, marking significant milestones in her young career. She starred as Young Simba in a production of The Lion King in May 2024, and was featured on her father Kanye West’s song “Talking / Once Again” in February 2024. Additionally, she recently collaborated with British singer FKA twigs on the song “Childlike Things.”

Earlier in January 2025, Kim discussed her new role as a “momager” during an appearance on World’s First Podcast, hosted by Erin and Sara Foster. She explained how family decisions guide North’s career moves. “She’ll get an offer to do a photo shoot or something. And like, we really sit and talk about it as a family. Like, ‘Should she do this? What’s too much? What’s not?'” Kim said.
In line with her philosophy of family-first decision-making, Kim highlighted the importance of balancing her children’s careers with their personal lives. She described how despite her hectic schedule, she always makes it a priority to drop her kids off at school, an activity she cherishes. “That’s just in my contracts, like no matter what I do, no matter work, like I have to take my kids to school,” she said. “That’s just my time with them. It’s the morning madness.”
Kim also emphasized her role in overseeing every detail of her children’s work commitments. “When they work and I have to be there, I have to see every last thing. I’m just like, it has to be worth it for us to make a decision,” she explained. She added that, when it comes to North’s opportunities, any major decisions are made as a family, prioritizing what’s truly important to North.
While Kim supports her daughter’s budding career, she also admitted that stepping into the “momager” role has come with challenges. “There’s so much that I’ve stopped because it’s too much, and I’m really not ready to be a momager, and I’m kind of forced into this,” she said. Despite feeling unprepared for the full scope of the role, Kim remains deeply involved in guiding North’s career decisions.
As The Kardashians season 6 premieres on Hulu, Kim’s journey in balancing her career and motherhood will be further explored. The season will delve into the ups and downs of navigating family dynamics, career ambitions, and the challenges of raising children in the public eye.
