Her latest project was originally set to be released after her sex-positive EP Slut Pop but was put on hold and later leaked online in 2022. At the time, Kim actually encouraged fans to listen to the previously unreleased tracks in a series of deleted tweets. “I’m not getting to put out any music anyways I’m f—-,” she wrote, per Rolling Stone. “I’m devastated idk how all of this happened and I just wanna quit.”

She also opened up about the Problématique leak in a statement to the Associated Press. “It was shocking when I found out part of the album leaked—at the time—that it wasn’t ever going to come out, especially as I poured so much of myself into it,” Kim said. “I was heartbroken, but at the same time, it was really exciting to see my fans listening to the tracks and loving them.”
