Krispy Kreme Partners with McDonald’s for Expansion, Celebrates with Free Doughnuts This Week

As the popular bakery chain Krispy Kreme begins to roll out its doughnuts at McDonald’s locations across the United States, customers can enjoy a complimentary treat to commemorate the partnership. Starting on October 10 and continuing through October 14, anyone who presents a receipt from a McDonald’s order made during that timeframe will receive a free original glazed doughnut at Krispy Kreme locations.

The collaboration was first announced in March, when both companies revealed that McDonald’s would start offering select Krispy Kreme products. The first rollout will begin on October 15 at select locations in Chicago, with plans to expand to 1,000 McDonald’s restaurants by the end of 2024 and eventually reach 12,000 locations by the end of 2026.

For now, customers in Chicago will be the only ones able to order doughnuts alongside their Big Macs, chicken nuggets, and fries. The initial menu at McDonald’s will feature three types of doughnuts delivered daily from Krispy Kreme: the classic original glazed, chocolate iced with sprinkles, and chocolate iced kreme-filled.

This partnership marks an exciting development for both brands, as Krispy Kreme seeks to broaden its reach while McDonald’s aims to enhance its dessert offerings. The availability of Krispy Kreme doughnuts at McDonald’s is expected to attract fans of both chains, providing a unique opportunity to enjoy two beloved food items together.

In addition to the Krispy Kreme promotion, Domino’s Pizza is also enticing customers with its reintroduction of the Emergency Pizza program. This initiative, first launched in 2023, allows customers to receive a free two-topping pizza “whenever they need it most,” according to a recent press release.

From October 8 through January 19, customers placing an online delivery or digital carryout order of $7.99 or more will qualify for a free pizza on a future order. However, the offer is limited to one free pizza per person and cannot be used on Halloween or New Year’s Eve. Customers will have 30 days to redeem their free pizza offer through their Domino’s rewards account.

As these promotions roll out, both Krispy Kreme and Domino’s are tapping into consumer desires for convenience and special treats.
