Centering their 2024 Pride campaign on the concept of “Radical joy,” Microsoft’s LGBTQIA+ communities emphasize a joy that transcends external circumstances and fuels transformative change.

As part of the Pride celebration, Microsoft highlights the interconnectedness and diversity of LGBTQIA+ communities. Through vibrant abstract designs incorporating 74 flags representing different LGBTQIA+ identities, Microsoft embodies the perpetual joy and empowerment radiating from the community year-round. This year’s graphic extends representation to 25 new communities and is accessible in 33 languages.

With over $16 million donated to LGBTQIA+ organizations in the last 30 years, and $1.3 million in the past year alone, Microsoft and its employees remain dedicated to fostering positive global impact and advocating for LGBTQIA+ rights.

Microsoft’s commitment to LGBTQIA+ inclusion dates back to 1989 when it introduced sexual orientation into its non-discrimination policies. Since then, Microsoft has been at the forefront of LGBTQIA+ advocacy, offering benefits for same-sex domestic partnerships in 1993 and supporting marriage equality. Achieving a 100 score on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Corporate Equality Index for 18 consecutive years, Microsoft continues to amplify LGBTQIA+ voices and promote inclusion through initiatives like GLEAM (Global LGBTQIA+ Employees & Allies at Microsoft).
