Summary:

  • HBO confirms Natasha Lyonne and Trisha Paytas joining Euphoria Season 3, expanding the show’s world and cast.

  • Lyonne’s addition signals a shift in tone, taking place years after Season 2, while Paytas makes her scripted TV debut.

  • New season to be more mature and introspective, exploring early adulthood as main cast members return alongside new additions.

HBO has officially confirmed that Russian Doll star Natasha Lyonne and YouTuber Trisha Paytas are joining the cast of Euphoria Season 3, part of a major shake-up for the Emmy-winning series.

Lyonne’s addition marks a shift in tone for the show, which is expected to take place several years after the events of Season 2. Her character hasn’t been revealed, but sources told Variety the new season will “expand the world” of Euphoria beyond its original high school setting.

Paytas’s casting has also drawn attention. The longtime YouTube creator—known for her unpredictable humor, outspoken persona, and large online following—will make her scripted television debut. HBO has not shared details on her role, but her inclusion signals that Euphoria continues to blur the line between internet celebrity and Hollywood.

Most of the show’s main cast is returning, including Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney, Jacob Elordi, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, and Colman Domingo. Dominic Fike and Nika King will also return, while Storm Reid and Barbie Ferreira have confirmed they won’t be back. The late Angus Cloud, who played fan favorite Fezco, will be absent following his passing in 2023.

In addition to Lyonne and Paytas, HBO announced several new cast members—among them Eli Roth, Danielle Deadwyler, Sam Trammell, and Gideon Adlon—as part of what appears to be Euphoria’s biggest ensemble yet. Production is expected to begin early next year, with the new season slated to premiere in spring 2026.

The upcoming season has been described as more “mature” and “introspective,” with creator Sam Levinson reportedly exploring how Rue (Zendaya) and her peers navigate early adulthood.
