Popeye Is Turning Heads With His New Look

In an attempt to contemporize Popeye, the movie’s new director, Genndy Tarakovsky, changed the classic cartoon character’s look a bit.

He still has the heart and sincerity of which he used to, but other changes have been made. They have done away with the pipe and his anchor tattoos.

However, FOX News correspondent Tucker Carlson, proved a point on air saying that the smoking pipe is a “symbol of freedom and masculinity.” There has been a debate on whether or not these new changes are negatively reflecting what the original character was actually all about.
