During Olivia Rodrigo’s Guts World Tour stop in Sydney, Australia, on October 17, an unexpected and awkward moment unfolded when the 21-year-old pop star asked two attendees to kiss on stage, only to discover they were siblings.

In footage circulating on TikTok, Rodrigo was performing when she spotted the two fans on the big screen and called out to them. “You guys are so cute,” she remarked, encouraging them to share a kiss for the “Guts Cam.” The crowd cheered enthusiastically, but the two individuals exchanged nervous glances. One of them quickly clarified the situation, saying, “She’s my sister!”

Rodrigo’s reaction was immediate and colorful. “She’s your sister? Oh s—! Oh s—! Never mind, never mind, scrap that. Oh God, that hasn’t happened before,” she exclaimed, visibly taken aback by the revelation. The moment encapsulated the blend of spontaneity and unpredictability that often characterizes live performances.

Tom Santo, the brother involved in the incident, took to TikTok to share the unexpected moment, captioning the post, “Olivia Rodrigo asking my sister and I to kiss was not on my 2024 bingo card.” He added, “Sorry to disappoint you @Olivia Rodrigo but that would be my sister,” while Rodrigo commented on the video, apologizing, “I AM SO SORRY.” The playful interaction showcased the light-hearted atmosphere of Rodrigo’s concerts and her ability to engage with her fans.

Rodrigo’s Guts World Tour has been a whirlwind of memorable moments. After the Sydney shows on October 21 and 22, she will continue her tour in Latin America, with dates scheduled for March. The tour will wrap up with two performances at Co-op Live in Manchester, England, on June 30 and July 1.

The singer’s recent performances have not been without their challenges. At her concert in Melbourne on October 14, an unfortunate incident occurred when she appeared to rip out a chunk of hair while performing. Captured on video, the moment showed Rodrigo spinning with her microphone when a section of her hair was seen being pulled out. Fortunately, fans speculated that it was likely a hair extension and not her natural hair. One TikTok user commented, “I hope that was a hair extension that she ripped out…”

The Melbourne show also featured another alarming moment when Rodrigo fell through a hole in the stage. Videos shared by fans on X and TikTok show the audience gasping collectively as she tumbled down. Fortunately, she quickly reassured fans. “Oh my God, that was fun! I’m OK,” she said, laughing as she lifted herself back onto the stage. “Wow, sometimes, there’s just a hole in the stage.” This resilience and humor in the face of mishaps have only endeared her further to fans.
