Actress Pamela Anderson made the choice to attend Paris Fashion Week au-naturale. Her makeup-less decision is warming hearts across the internet, as the longtime fashion icon is helping more women appreciate their beauty with age.
Anderson debuted a fresh face at numerous high fashion house runway shows and carpets this week, contrary to her signature smokey eyes and dramatic lip liner from her “Baywatch” and 1990s supermodel era. The actress told i-D at Victoria Beckham‘s runway show that “It’s all about self-acceptance. This is the chapter of my life I’m trying to embrace now. Since I really walk out the door as me, I feel relief—a weight off my shoulders. I’m dressing for me now, not for everybody else.”

Anderson referred to her fresh faced look as an example of “life-ing” instead of “aging.” “Chasing youth is futile,” Anderson told the outlet. Additionally, the actress’ longtime makeup artist, Alexis Vogel, passed after a battle with breast cancer in 2019. Since losing Vogel, Anderson has said that she refrains from wearing makeup to some events in Vogel’s honor.

Anderson later condemned the network for proceeding to create the series without her blessing, as she felt it forced her to relive the trauma of her previous marriage to musician Tommy Lee. The actress later reclaimed her side of the story in her 2023 Netflix documentary “Love, Pamela.”
