Late Night Hosts Respond To Trump’s Unhinged Rant About Them

Will Jimmy Fallon... unruffle Trump's hair?!

When Barack Obama would go on The Tonight Show or WTF with Marc Maron, or even Between Two Ferns, it felt like a strange crossover between realities where the world of serious politics all of a sudden kick it back with a goofball or a neurotic for a little bit, and then goes back about their merry way. When Trump does something insane where he calls out entertainment, it still feels like its from another reality, but it’s also– harsh, and weird and warlike. Trump, as a man who has made no secret of his absurd sensitivity, is none too happy when comics criticize him. So, in lieu of discussing any of the crises overtaking the country as of late, he instead decided to stand before a crowd and discuss his personal crisis — a lot of late night hosts don’t like him! Boo. Hoo… hoo!!!

The speech made reference to Fallon, who recently stepped back from the hair tousling on The Tonight Show that garnered him so much controversy (part of his statement said, ahem, and I quote, “Are you happy? I’m depressed. Do you want to push me more? What do you want me to do? You want me to kill myself? What would make you happy? Get over it”.), and also to Corden and to Stephen Colbert who Donald Trump refused to name for some reason, calling him instead “that guy from CBS”. Then he fondly remembered Johnny Carson, as every extremely old man is forced to pretend they that Johnny Carson is the best talk show host we’ve had (1984 Letterman is my fave personally).

Well, the talk show hosts have responded. Fallon, for his part donated money to RAICES in Trump’s name, which we covered earlier as an organization that helps refugees and those detained by ICE. Fallon also called Trump out in his monologue the night before, calling out Trump and Melania’s weak as hell anti bullying campaign, with a shocking eye for satire for a man who is defined by his toothlessness.

Additional responses include ones from “That Guy From CBS” (we’re talking Colbert, baby!) where he both did a cute video with Fallon and Conan O’Brien (who Trump didn’t dump on — the deepest cut!) which we posted above, and then showing a clip where Trump’s favorite guy Johnny Carson calls out Trump for being a gross dude with mistresses a plenty.

Kimmel has yet to respond to Trump, but out of the three of these comedians, he’s been the one with the harshest words and feelings for the president, with little in the way of patience when it comes to his trampling on human rights, including that of health care, so his response I expect to be the most pointed one of them all.

Well, everything sucks. What do you think though? Does everything… not suck? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter at @WhatsTrending.
