Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been through a lot in the past few months, but the two are leaning on one another through much of the public scrutiny.

The couple have had a large amount of negative press spreading from their car chase with paparazzi in NYC, the loss of their multi-million dollar Spotify deal, and even a setback on the ongoing lawsuit against a British tabloid.

“It’s been a challenging time,” says one source in Us Weekly’s latest cover story.

Despite the rumors, the two are not letting the stress affect their relationship. The two have had divorce rumors swirling around for the last few weeks, but they are not letting it get to them.

“They’re a united front,” says a second source of the spouses. “As far as they’re concerned, it’s Harry and Meghan against the world.”

The couple and their five-year marriage are going strong still after leaving the royal family back in 2020. The couple have relocated from England to California and have attempted to start a new life in the states.

Earlier this year, the novel from Prince Harry, Spare, debuted as a best seller. The two even created the Netflix docuseries, Harry & Meghan, but failed to garner an Emmy nomination for the production.

According to one of the sources, the public criticism has been a large pill to swallow for the two to swallow. The two were accused of making up the elaborate car chase in NYC and faced much public discourse after the Spotify deal fell through.

Bill Simmons, the company’s head of podcast innovation and monetization, called the couple “grifters.” Soon after, United Talent Agency CEO Jeremy Zimmer said in an interview that Meghan “was not a great audio talent, or necessarily any kind of talent.”

One of the sources stated, “Harry and Meghan can’t keep track of the negative things people say about them. It’s relentless. They do their best to rise above it, but of course it gets to them — how could it not?”

Another source added that the two have been turning to each other for comfort in this time of need.

“So much of Harry and Meghan’s time together has felt like overcoming strife from all sides,” says the second source. “They just do it together. They rely on each other for strength and always have.”

When there’s tension at home, it’s over things outside of their public life. “There’s not too much work right now for either of them, so that does cause some issues of feeling isolated,” shares the source, adding that Harry misses his friends in the U.K. “Back home, his summers were full of travel and weddings and exploring. Harry’s made friends in California, but they’re not like his London crew.” These days, continues the source, Harry and Meghan “are together 24/7.”

Harry and Meghan are regrouping,” says the second source. “They want to figure out how they can best expand the entertainment side of things.”

The couple are going through a few new career embarkments as well. Meghan has been allegedly debating on reviving her lifestyle site, The Tig, which was shut down after the two got engaged. Harry will also be headed to Africa soon for a Netflix documentary.

The two are also set to travel to Germany for Harry’s Invictus Games in September. The two have been seriously looking to relocate to a house in Malibu as well.
