Amidst online conspirators and balancing private and public duties, Prince William is trying to stay strong.

According to a source who spoke to People, the first few months of this year for Prince William were particularly difficult. In January, Kate had an abdominal surgery that excused her from making appearances, which then spurred many, many Internet conspiracies. He was “upset and angry” with the online fixation with Kate and the constant conspiracy theories regarding her health.

Then in February, King Charles was diagnosed with cancer and Kate announced her own cancer diagnosis in March.

Princess Kate announced her cancer diagnosis on March 22 in a video released by Kensington Palace. After the Palace was caught earlier in the year supplying photo agencies with a manipulated Mother’s Day photo (to which the Princess of Wales issued an apology), many doubted the veracity of this video and argued that it artificial intelligence.

Getty had flagged the video with a note on Princess Kate’s announcement video with “This handout clip was provided by a third-party organisation and may not adhere to Getty Images’ editorial policy.” This piqued many people’s interests, insisting that it meant that the video was A.I.- generated. However, Getty clarified its actions by claiming it is standard procedure to flag third-party media with such note.
