Raising Cane’s celebrated its 28th anniversary on August 28 with a glittering event in Boston, marking the grand opening of a unique all-gold restaurant. The special occasion was attended by a host of celebrities, including Red Sox Hall of Famer David Ortiz, Celtics star Jrue Holiday, and award-winning singer-songwriter JVKE. The festivities were hosted by Raising Cane’s founder Todd Graves.
The event, held at the restaurant’s new location at 101 Arch St, Suite 105, featured a striking all-gold design, including golden walls, disco balls, seating, counters, and floors. The restaurant’s exterior and interior utilized over 10,000 square feet of gold chrome automotive vinyl, contributing to a luxurious and gleaming atmosphere. To ensure a uniform golden aesthetic, Cane’s engaged multiple color consultants to match materials such as automotive vinyl wrap, imitation gold leaf, powder coating, and paint.
The celebration also marked the start of Raising Cane’s “golden year” initiative, which includes a $28 million pledge to support local communities throughout the coming year. This follows the company’s previous contributions, which have totaled over $140 million.
“The real American dream is doing good things for people—it’s not about what you make, it’s about what you give back,” said Graves. “I’ve been so blessed to do that over the past 28 years. We’ve given back more than $140 million to local communities and plan to give back another $28 million this year alone.”
The Boston event featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony and was highlighted by performances and appearances from high-profile guests. David Ortiz, known as “Big Papi,” expressed his enthusiasm for the event and the brand. “Gold is what we do here in Boston, and we’re so appreciative that Todd chose Boston to open this new location. Boston is a great city, and our fans are the best of the best,” said Ortiz. “Raising Cane’s has been getting it done for 28 years, and Todd has created a dynasty with this brand. The reason why people keep coming back to Cane’s is because of tradition.”
Jrue Holiday, an Olympic gold medalist and two-time NBA champion, also shared his excitement. “It’s insane to be here today because the last year has felt like such a whirlwind. I was so honored to play for Team USA in Paris and proud that we brought home the gold,” Holiday said. “So, Todd bringing more gold to this city is the perfect fit—go Celtics!”
Singer-songwriter JVKE, whose hit single “golden hour” aligns with the theme of the day, performed at the event. “This is truly a full-circle moment for me. My biggest song is called ‘golden hour,’ and it’s surreal being here today to perform it at this golden restaurant,” JVKE said. He also hinted at his upcoming single, “her,” set for release on Friday.
