Rihanna has unveiled an exciting vision for the future of her lingerie brand, Savage X Fenty. At a preview event on Thursday, October 10, for the new Lavish Lace Collection, the singer and entrepreneur expressed her desire to revive the brand’s iconic fashion shows, which have garnered widespread acclaim for their inclusivity and star power.

“I want the show to come back,” Rihanna stated in an interview with PEOPLE at the Century City Mall Nordstrom in Los Angeles. The 36-year-old artist emphasized that Savage X Fenty is undergoing a transformation, stating, “We are doing a flip on the face of the brand, and we’re just trying to launch everything.”

Rihanna elaborated on her plans for the brand’s future, indicating that the upcoming changes will include a new message and logo. “We just launched new collections, and you’ll see we’re introducing you to a brand new Savage X Fenty brand,” she said. “From there, we could take it from there.”

The previous Savage X Fenty show, Vol. 4, was filmed in October 2022 and later aired on Prime Video on November 9, 2022. This installment was particularly significant for Rihanna, as it marked her first major project following the birth of her first child. The show featured an array of celebrity appearances and an impressive lineup of performers, showcasing the brand’s commitment to diversity and empowerment.

In her interview, Rihanna also discussed her life as a mother. She shared insights into her go-to “mom uniform” while parenting her two sons, RZA, 2, and Riot, 14 months, whom she shares with rapper A$AP Rocky. “Anything that’s cozy, anything that’s stretchy, anything that’s easy to bend down and pick my kids up in,” she said, describing her approach to comfortable, functional fashion. “We’ve got a lot of work to do in a day in the life of a mom.”

The 2022 Savage X Fenty Show featured a captivating opening that highlighted Rihanna’s dual role as both a mother and a fashion icon. She made a striking entrance in a blue corset adorned with floral details, complemented by sheer gloves, stockings, and a black tulle shrug. The show’s soundtrack included “See You Again” by Tyler, The Creator and “D.M.B.” by A$AP Rocky, further enhancing the event’s emotional resonance.

Rihanna’s commitment to creating an inclusive and diverse fashion experience has been a hallmark of Savage X Fenty since its launch in 2018. The brand debuted with a non-televised fashion show during New York Fashion Week and quickly became known for its groundbreaking approach to lingerie, featuring models of various shapes, sizes, and backgrounds.

The first televised special, Savage X Fenty Show Vol. 2, premiered in September 2019, followed by Vol. 3 in September 2021. Each show has built on the last, showcasing not only the latest collections but also highlighting the importance of representation in the fashion industry.

Rihanna’s vision for the future of Savage X Fenty reflects her understanding of the evolving landscape of fashion. As the brand seeks to redefine itself, Rihanna’s focus on a fresh message and innovative designs aims to captivate audiences once again.

“I’m looking forward to [people seeing] it,” Rihanna said, referring to her upcoming projects. “It’s my first real thing that I’ve done since I had the baby, work-wise.” Her dedication to her craft and her family demonstrates the balance she strives to maintain as both a global icon and a devoted mother.
