Russell Brand is the focus of new allegations regarding sexual assault. Multiple women have come forward accusing the actor of rape and abuse which is now being investigated.
On Monday, the U.K. newspaper The Times reported that ‘several women’ have contacted the publication since it published allegations against Brand in a joint investigation with other publishers.
Brand was first accused of sexual and emotional abuse by multiple women in a report from The Times and Dispatches as of late this past Saturday. Four of the women who have come forward have remained anonymous – including a 16-year-old.
In the report, one woman accused the comedian of rape in his Los Angeles home in 2012, a former colleague also alleged that Brand sexually assaulted her in 2013, and Brand’s ex girlfriend Jordan Martin accused him of sexual assault and abuse.
The outlets reported that the incidents allegedly took place between 2006 to 2013 while he was presenting shows for BBC Radio 2 and Channel 4. Brand has since refuted the allegations in a video posted to his YouTube channel.
Three dates on the comedian’s Bipolarisation tour events were scheduled to go ahead in Windsor, Plymouth, and Wolverhampton over the next ten days but the tour promoters issued a statement saying it would not be continuing.

Though three upcoming dates have since been postponed, the Rock of Ages star did go ahead with his scheduled performance at the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre in London on Saturday night.
During his show, where he received a standing ovation, he thanked the audience of about 2,000 people for coming and said there were certain topics he could not discuss that night, BBC News reported.
“I really appreciate your support, I love you, and I want to do a fantastic show for you,” he told the crowd, per the outlet. “I’ve got a lot of things to talk to you about. There are obviously some things that I absolutely cannot talk about, and I appreciate that you will understand.”
The BBC, Channel 4, and Banijay have opened investigations into these allegations. It has also been reported that a lot of content featuring Russell Brand has been taken down.
Trevi Women and Children’s Charity UK, who Brand worked with in the past, has also cut ties with the comedian. Brand’s literary agent Tavistock Wood also confirmed that it would no longer represent him. Tavistock Wood Management Agency said it believed it was “horribly misled by him.”
Brand’s one-man shows have also been postponed after the allegations as well.

In a resurfaces interview Brand also joked about raping a woman. The clip has been scrubbed from the internet but many have pulled screenshots or clips from the video.
Brand’s ex-wife, Katy Perry, has not acknowledged the new allegations against him, but she hinted about his “truth” following their 2012 divorce.
Many have been waiting to see if there will be any statement from Perry. Brand has been married to blogger Laura Gallacher since 2017, and they share two daughters together.
