Taylor Swift Defends Fan From Aggressive Stadium Security Guard at Philadelphia Show

//

Summary:

  • Taylor Swift defended fans from stadium security during “The Eras Tour” in Philadelphia, earning praise from concertgoers.

  • Fans captured the altercation on social media, dubbing Swift’s performance of “Bad Blood” as the new “Taylor’s Version.”

  • Eventually, fans threatened by security guard shared their side of the story on TikTok, with one claiming the guard was kicked out.

Taylor Swift fought back against stadium security while performing at her “The Eras Tour” stop in Philadelphia this weekend. After a heartwarming show opening in which Swift discussed her childhood in Pennsylvania not far from Philadelphia, chaos struck. The security guard was allegedly threatening to kick the fans out of the stadium for dancing close to the guard rail in front of their section, and Swift was quick to make sure that he was unsuccessful. With almost perfect timing, the altercation occurred while Swift sang her “1989” hit “Bad Blood.”

The situation was captured from numerous angles from concertgoers, and rapidly circulated across social media. Fans are applauding Swift for standing up for fans that likely paid a hefty price for their seats at Lincoln Financial Field.

The track is yet to be re-recorded as “Taylor’s Version” after the original master was bought by music tycoon Scooter Braun. Because only the original is currently available, many fans are dubbing the new audio of Swift passionately belting “Bad Blood” at the security guard as the “Taylor’s Version” of the song. Some are even vowing to turn the memorable moment into an audience chant during the performance of the song at the next “The Eras Tour” show.

The Fans’ Side Of The Story

Eventually, the fans that the security guard threatened came forward and posted TikTok videos explaining their side of the situation. One woman explained that the security guard wound up getting kicked out instead of the fans.

Another fan from the section also took to the platform to share her perspective. She alleged that the guard would aggressively threaten to remove the group of girls from the section for dancing or getting close to the stage. She also claimed that Taylor Nation offered the group free tickets as an apology for how the guard treated them.

The move to protect fans at the concert has social media drawing an intriguing comparison. Swift’s rumored boyfriend, Matty Healy of the 1975, defended fans from a similar situation that occurred at one of his band’s shows.

Swift is yet to address the Philadelphia fight heard around the world.  Regardless, the situation is reminding venue workers to not have bad blood with the singer.
