Apple’s “It’s Glowtime” event has concluded, unveiling a range of new products that extend beyond the anticipated iPhone 16. While the iPhone 16 was the centerpiece of the showcase, Apple also introduced exciting updates to its smartwatch and AirPods lines, marking a significant expansion in their product offerings.

Here’s a rundown of the most noteworthy announcements from the event:

iPhone 16 Introduces New Features and Enhanced Performance

The iPhone 16 series is now officially here, boasting several new features and upgrades. In addition to adopting the Action Button from the iPhone 15 Pro, the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus come with a new DSLR-like capture button. This button allows users to take photos and videos as well as adjust settings with greater ease. Both models feature rear cameras stacked atop one another and support spatial video recording, designed for viewing on the Apple Vision Pro.

Under the hood, the iPhone 16 is powered by the faster A18 processor, which supports new AI capabilities. The 6.1-inch iPhone 16 starts at $799, while the 6.7-inch Plus version is priced at $899. Available colors include white, black, green, pink, and blue. Preorders begin on September 15, with shipping set to commence on September 20.

iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max: Enhanced Displays and Advanced Cameras

The iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max have also received significant upgrades. Both models feature larger displays compared to their predecessors. The base Pro model now has a 6.3-inch screen, up from 6.1 inches, while the Pro Max offers a 6.9-inch display, an increase from 6.7 inches. These models also incorporate the new capture button seen in the standard iPhone 16.

The Pro lineup is equipped with the upgraded A18 Pro chip. The Pro Max is highlighted as having “the best iPhone battery life ever,” according to Apple. Both Pro models now feature the same 5x telephoto camera with a “tetraprism” design, along with an enhanced 48-megapixel ultrawide sensor and a 48MP “Fusion camera.” The iPhone 16 Pro is priced at $999, while the Pro Max is $1,199. Preorders will start on September 15, with in-store availability from September 20.

New AI Features for iPhone 16

All iPhone 16 models are set to benefit from Apple’s new AI features, launching in beta next month with support initially in English. These features include the ability to search for images in your library by describing them and creating custom emojis. Additionally, the iPhone 16’s Camera Control button introduces a new feature called Visual Intelligence, which can automatically identify objects in your photos and suggest relevant actions, such as adding a concert poster to your calendar.
