This week, comedian and actress Molly Shannon is hosting Saturday Night Live (SNL), alongside musical guests the Jonas Brothers. Shannon recently appeared in director Zach Braff’s “A Good Person”, notably alongside Morgan Freeman and Florence Pugh. In a humorous promo video ahead of Saturday’s show, Shannon gave the band and SNL cast member Ego Nwodim tips on how to beat stage fright, and almost lost sight of the Jonas Brothers.
The band recently announced their second album together since their reunion in 2019, titled “The Album.” The project is currently slated for a May 5 release, but the first two singles, “Wings” and “Waffle House” recently dropped on streaming services.
Social media users are rejoicing at the news, with many excited to see the Jonas Brothers return to SNL for the first time since 2019. The band of brothers previously acted in a Disney channel sitcom called “Jonas” from 2009-2010, and appeared in the popular “Camp Rock” franchise.

Shannon has her own lengthy SNL history as well, as she was a cast member on the program from 1995-2001. In this week’s SNL promo videos, Ego Nwodim refers to Shannon as one of her “comedy heroes”. Fans of Nwodim and Shannon are excited to see the pair of comediennes unite this week.

The History
Meanwhile on TikTok, fans of the Jonas Brothers, who initially reunited as a band in 2019 after a decade long hiatus, have resurfaced a historic clip. The first time the brothers appeared on the popular show, actor Alec Baldwin hosted the program in 2009.

In addition to the early 2000s era Jonas Brothers in the clip, fans spotted another familiar face–Hailey Bieber, who is Baldwin’s niece. Bieber got to announce the Jonas Brother’s performance alongside her uncle. She reposted the clip on her Instagram story, captioning it “it’s the braces for me.”
This week’s show premieres live on NBC at 11:30 p.m. EST and 9:30 p.m. PST, and can also be streamed via Peacock.
