Belly’s story isn’t over just yet.

Prime Video has confirmed that The Summer I Turned Pretty will wrap up its run with a feature film, bringing Jenny Han’s bestselling trilogy to the big screen. The announcement came shortly after the Season 3 finale premiered and was celebrated with a red carpet event in Paris.

Han, who created the Prime Video adaptation and authored the original novels, will both write and direct the film.

“There is another big milestone left in Belly’s journey, and I thought only a movie could give it its proper due,” Han said in a statement. “I’m so grateful to Prime Video for continuing to support my vision for this story and for making it possible to share this final chapter with the fans”.

What We Know About the Film

While Prime Video has not released plot details, the story is expected to follow Isabel “Belly” Conklin (Lola Tung) and Conrad Fisher (Christopher Briney) as they step into the next stage of their relationship. Fans of the books speculate the movie will finally bring Han’s We’ll Always Have Summer wedding storyline to the screen — a moment that was left out of the series finale.

Since its July 16 release, Season 3 has drawn more than 25 million viewers worldwide in its first week, making it the fifth most-watched returning season on Prime Video, according to the streamer.
