A new study indicates that Elton John is the wealthiest LGBTQ+ celebrity, with a net worth of $650 million.

The study, conducted by Emisil.com to identify the wealthiest LGBTQ+ celebrities in 2024. The analysis reviews their net worth and extends to examining their professional achievements, how often people search for them online, how many followers they have on Instagram, and marital status. The study then ranks these celebrities based on how much money they have, giving a clear picture of who is the wealthiest in the LGBTQ+ community.

Leading the list, Elton John has a net worth of $650 million, making him the wealthiest LGBTQ+ celebrity in our analysis. Being a major figure on IG with 4.8 million followers, he has been searched online over 8.7 million times. Elton’s marriage to David Furnish and his support for LGBTQ+ rights have made him an iconic figure in the LGBTQ+ community.

Ellen DeGeneres comes out second on the list wealthiest LGBTQ+ celebrities, with a $500 million net worth. The former talk show host  is also second in terms of Instagram followers on the list, having an impressive 139 million followers.

Tied for third place, Jim Parsons and Miley Cyrus each have a net worth of $160 million. While the “Big Band Theory” alum has a similar net worth, Miley, stands out with the highest number of Instagram followers, at 217 million, and has the highest search popularity.

Ricky Martin follows close behind with a net worth of $130 million. After coming out as gay, his inspiring story for many has earned him more than 5 million people look him up online.

Kristen Stewart comes in at fifth on the list with a net worth of $70 million. The “Twilight” actress is one of the wealthiest and most prominent bisexual figures in Hollywood. While she has no social media accounts, the interest in her personal and professional life remains high, with over 6 million online searches.

Coming in on the list at sixth, RuPaul and Ian McKellen each have a net worth of $60 million. RuPaul, with more Instagram followers, impacts mainstream culture through the popular series “RuPaul’s Drag Race.” In contrast, Ian McKellen is focused more on acting and advocacy and holds 2.3 million followers on Instagram.

Neil Patrick Harris, valued at $50 million, ranks seventh on the list of wealthiest LGBTQ+ celebrities. Harris shares his life as a gay father and husband with his 9 million Instagram followers.

Eighth on the list of wealthiest LGBTQ+ celebrities is Sam Smith, worth $45 million. With 14.4 million Instagram followers and more than 6 million online searches, Sam has largely promoted understanding and acceptance of the LGBTQ+ community.

Ninth place on the list of wealthiest LGBTQ+ celebrities is Sean Hayes, who has a net worth of $30 million. The actor is favored for his influence in bringing LGBTQ+ characters to mainstream comedy.
