Internet Star Toddy Smith Says He’s Making Moves Toward Acting and Producing Music

Toddy Smith, known YouTuber and social media personality, has big plans in the works in regards to music. The internet personality has been expanding his work with short films and acting letting many know there are many more projects to come.

With over five million followers across social media, Toddy Smith recently dropped his single “Started as a Joke” transforming his comedy content online into an entertainment empire. In a conversation with What’s Trending, Smith says there are plenty more releases in the works.

In the past, Toddy Smith founded a fashion brand called Gothic Mochas, served as a primary tour member of Scotty Sire’s band, and even released a collection of books, poems and stories becoming a bestseller on Amazon.

But now, Smith is letting fans in on his latest venture in music. ‘

The latest single ‘Started as a Joke’ showcases Smith not only in his creative element, but also a musician. In a conversation with What’s Trending, Smith said the song isn’t only one of his favorites he has recorded but also has a special meaning as well.

Smith said, “It’s just a story of me trying to I guess uh be a suitor toward Natalie, who this song is about. It’s about our little ventures in 2019.”

He went on to add, “It’s definitely one of my favorite songs that I have put out. It was a fun process and at the very end of the song there is a melody that’s from Natalina, so it all ties in together.”

Toddy mentioned he is looking to put out more music in the future, and will most likely be putting out even more singles before the end of the year. Toddy also admits that he has so much support from his other friends, including Jason Nash and Scotty Sire, on his creative projects.

However, in regards to the changing social media landscape, Smith admits that he feels aged out from some components of being online.

Smith admitted, “I feel like I’m kind of aged out of that social media thing. I like to do my own thing. It’s hard to keep up with the trends.”

“I’m not on TikTok all the time or even YouTube. I’m really trying to transition. Digital will always be apart of me. I’m really trying to transition into hopefully producing or acting in more of a traditional sense.”

Aside from the new music, earlier in 2023 Smith made a parody of the thriller movie ‘Talk To Me’ from A24 that was intended to be a joke, but really resonated with audiences.

As far as others who saw the clip, Toddy even says the directors got a glimpse as well calling it a ‘full circle moment.’
