NFL Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and multiple time Grammy winning singer-songwriter Taylor Swift‘s relationship continues to tug at the heartstrings of fans worldwide. Most recently, the tight end revealed on his “New Heights” podcast that he shares with his brother Jason Kelce of the Philadelphia Eagles that the whole Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts was cheering Swift on at last weeks Chiefs vs. Patriots game. He recounted how unorthodox it felt to see the opposing team cheering her on despite her repping Chiefs gear, saying “that’s just how amazing that girl is.”

Kelce’s comments come after a small portion of New Englanders booed Swift for wearing a Chiefs hat in support of Kelce. While Swift shook off the boos and enjoyed her time at the game, the tight end was quick to defend and support her.

Kelce once famously revealed on his “New Heights” podcast he shares with his brother NFL Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce that he fumbled an attempt to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it. The attempt was made when Swift took over his usual home base of Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. Ever since then, Swift confirmed that the couple had begun getting to know each other, and by the time she attended a Chiefs game in September they were officially a couple.

Swift told TIME upon being named the person of the year that she is grateful to have such a mutually supportive relationship. “When you say a relationship is public, that means I’m going to see him do what he loves, we’re showing up for each other, other people are there and we don’t care,” Swift said. “The opposite of that is you have to go to an extreme amount of effort to make sure no one knows that you’re seeing someone. And we’re just proud of each other.”

While some football fans continue to criticize the newfound publicity placed around the couple, their friends and family continue to speak highly of them. GiGi Hadid commented on an Instagram post saying that Swift’s infamous girl gang was “over the moon for their girl.” Additionally, the singer’s father, Scott Swift, was spotted watching “The Eras Tour” from the VIP tent alongside Kelce in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Swift was spotted watching Kelce on the field alongside his mother Donna Kelce.

“The Eras Tour” resumes in Japan this February. In the meantime, the NFL tight end is making sure that there is no bad blood between the singer and football fans nationwide.
