Rapper Travis Scott released a new track titled “MELTDOWN” as a part of his new album “UTOPIA”, and the lyrics appear to be inspired by true events. The album serves as the rapper’s first album since 2019. The track allegedly references Scott’s on-and-off relationship with makeup mogul Kylie Jenner. Jenner and Scott were first linked in 2017, and the former couple share two children together. Daughter Stormi is five years old and son Aire is one year old.

Scott and Jenner allegedly separated circa the holiday season of 2022. In the months since, Jenner has been spotted spending time with acclaimed actor Timotheé Chalamet. The actor is notably set to portray iconic Roald Dahl character Willy Wonka in the upcoming “Wonka” film alongside Hugh Grant. On “MELTDOWN” Scott raps “Chocolate AP and chocolate the Vs (Vs), got the Willy Wonka factory (Vs)/Burn a athlete like it’s calories, find another flame hot as me, b*tch.”

Jenner and Chalamet have never confirmed or denied their relationship personally, but a source confirmed it to Entertainment Tonight in April 2023.

Others argued that he should not have released the song amid allegations of his infidelity during his relationship with Jenner.

Fans of the actor continued to defend him. Chalamet has never spoken on Scott, and the actor maintains a clean slate when it comes to controversial behavior.

Longtime rap music listeners are expressing that Scott might have failed to diss Chalamet as he intended to.

Others reminded listeners of the Astroworld tragedy, in which 10 concertgoers died and 25 were injured in a stampede. Scott allegedly saw the issues starting in the crowd and did not stop the show to resolve it. Scott never faced criminal charges over the incident.

Others felt that the line was insensitive, given that Scott shares two children with Jenner.

Some listeners got what Gen Z can only describe as “the ick” from hearing Scott call himself “hot” on the track. Many felt is was distasteful to allegedly insult the actor’s appearance.

Others resurfaced a humorous clip of a rap about statistics that Chalamet filmed for a high school project years ago. Fans of the actor joked that he could easily diss Scott in return. The actor famously attended LaGuardia High School in New York City alongside several other acclaimed actors and musicians.

Neither Chalamet nor Jenner have responded to the “MELTDOWN” lyrics at this time. Scott has not spoken out regarding the alleged diss track. “Wonka” premieres globally in theaters on December 15.
