Supernatural actor Misha Collins had to come out as straight after he accidentally came out as bisexual at a Supernatural convention. Apparently, Collins asked the crowd if they considered themselves to be “extroverts, introverts, or bisexuals.” After they answered, he joked that he was “all three.” Many poured in support for Collins, thinking that he was subtly coming out as bisexual. In the final season of Supernatural, Collins’ character confesses his love for the character Castiel, and then sacrificed himself by being dragged to “superhell.” Although many found this ending disappointing, the character’s love story was long-awaited. So, when people thought Collins came out, fans were excited for him.

But, apparently, Collins misspoke and had to come out as straight, which the internet finds hilarious. On Twitter, he writes that “My clumsy intention was to wave off actually discussing my sexuality, but I badly fumbled that and understand that was seen as me coming out as bisexual.” He clarifies that “I am not bisexual. I happen to be straight.” He says that he is “deeply sorry for the clumsiness of my language. I want to be a better ally and I feel sick to my stomach that I might have done anything to make things worse. I’m trying to learn, trying to do better and I will keep listening.” And although nobody seemed particularly upset at Collins, many began to make memes that he had to come out as straight.

Because of the disappointing end to the show, many said that it felt ironic that Collins would have to apologize for coming out as bisexual. “Instead of watching supernatural, just follow the Misha Collins bisexual timeline and you’ll have the same feeling as watching it.”

Although Collins seemed to feel pretty bad about the mishap, it did make a lot of people on Twitter laugh, so it probably isn’t the worst scandal you can have.
