The incident occurred Wednesday afternoon following a scheduled court hearing for Eatherly. According to investigators and livestream footage, a physical confrontation in Millennium Plaza escalated when Eatherly allegedly opened fire. Reports from District Attorney Robert Nash indicate that Eatherly discharged multiple rounds, striking another individual in the stomach and inadvertently wounding himself in the arm during the exchange.
Eatherly is currently being held without bond at the Montgomery County Jail. In addition to attempted murder, he faces charges of aggravated assault and reckless endangerment. The victim remains in stable condition after being flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
