Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves Accidentally Married Since 1992

Winona Ryder and Keanu Reeves have been touring the country to promote their upcoming sickly sweet rom-com movie, Destination Wedding. Despite us knowing that the two are amazing actors and could pull off any role they were put into, such as a romantic couple whose realistic chemistry on screen is very far from how it really is in real life, these two A-list celebrities may have been hiding a huge secret from us. Well, we think so…

During one of Ryder and Reeves’ press interviews, Winona started talking about how the two are actually married in real life, and that the chemistry performed on set, is about as real as it gets. Back in 1992, the two both starred in another rom-com, called ‘Bram Stoker’s Dracula’ where both of their characters got married to each other during the film. However, this may have not been an act at all, and was actually an accidental official act of legal binding love. Ah, so sweet.

Unfortunately for poor Keanu, he was none the wiser of this nostalgic hitching, and Ryder had to remind him of how the scene exactly went down. During the film, you can see the two reciting their vows in front of a real Romanian priest, and they both said all the right words, right up to ‘I Do.’ If you’re Romanian, this marriage might actually count as official, but for us Americans, in the eyes of the law, it does not. I mean, we’re just upset as you are – can you imagine how great they would be as a couple?

If you do really wish that these two were married in real life, just remember that the director of ‘Bram Stoker’s Dracula’, Francis Ford Coppola, commented on the movie’s marriage scene, stating that the two are officially married in the state of Romania, underneath their law. Coppola also mentioned in his interview with The Guardian, that the way the wedding was set up, was very close to how beautiful wedding ceremonies usually are in Romanian religion, so to any Romanian citizen, this marriage is as real as Obama and Michelle’s – and they’re the definition of real love. At least by Romanian law.
