On September 24, punk pop star Avril Lavigne took part in a live Google+ Hangout, hosted by our own Shira Lazar, to take fan questions about her upcoming self-titled album, which is due out November 5 and available for pre-order on iTunes now.
Lavigne, of "Sk8r Boi" and "Girlfriend" fame, took the time to share stories of recording her new album, the evolution of her songwriting process, favorite tunes to perform, and even working with her husband, Nickelback's Chad Kroeger.
She also chatted about her new "Rock N Roll" music video, of which her favorite part was getting to make out with Danica McKellar. Oh, the "Wonder Years" flashbacks!
Lavigne revealed that while she enjoys finding the balance between writing catchy pop songs and deep, introspective lyrics, she always just strives to be honest in her storytelling. "It's good to be sincere," she says. "When you're not, people can sense that."
