Travis Kelce is joining Ryan Murphy‘s latest FX series Grotesquerie set to premiere this fall.

Murphy first announced the series in February, with initial casting including Niecy Nash-Betts, Courtney B. Vance, and Lesley Manville. While the plot hasn’t been revealed, the haunting dialogue delivered by Nash-Bettes in the announcement teaser video Murphy teases a bit of it. The series will air on FX, the long-time home of Murphy projects.

There is no footage included in the video, but it does have a voiceover from Nash-Betts, “I don’t know what’s started. I can’t put my finger on it. But it’s different now. There’s been a shift. It’s like something’s opening up in the world. A kind of hole to the center of nothingness. What I saw today… they sent shrinks for everyone who worked this crime scene. You say, ‘Well, hon, evil has always existed,’ and cite some statistic about how the world’s getting better, less murder, more help, less global horror. ‘Never been a better time to be alive, hon.’ … Come back. It’s not getting better. And I keep needing to hear your answers, because something’s happening around us, and nobody sees… but me.”

On March 7th, Nash-Betts posted a video on her Instagram confirming that Kelce will be appearing on the series. “Guys, guess who I’m working with on Grotesquerie…” She feigns a gasp and sings, “dun, dun, dun, dunn,” revealing the smiling Kansas City Chiefs tight end.

“Jumping into new territory with Niecy!” Kelce adds, before Nash-Betts ends the video with, “We outside!”

The leading cast’s roles also have been kept under wraps leaving all sorts of guesses as to what type of character (if at all), Kelce will be playing on the show, but from what we can see in this video, Nash-Betts is wearing a hospital gown and robe, and Kelce looks like he is wearing an orderly outfit. Will there be a crossover with American Horror Story: Asylum, a.k.a. my favorite season of AHS?

The video is also captioned, “This is what happens when WINNERS link up‼️ @killatrav Welcome to Grostequerie!” Nash-Betts won an Emmy for her role as Glenda Cleveland in Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story and of course, Kelce won his third Super Bowl with the Chiefs in February.

Kelce is no stranger to prime time television, on the field and or off. He has recently hosted SNL this past March and was the star of his own reality dating show Catching Kelce back in 2016. He’s also set to host the upcoming quiz show Are You Smarter Than a Celebrity?
