Season 6 'Game of Thrones' Trailer Teases the Real War

Second chances, revenge, winter, dragons, and war fuel the latest promo

  • We’re less than two weeks away from the big Season 6 premiere of Game of Thrones and HBO has unleashed a new, full-length trailer. As the war drums rage on, tension and terror wages on throughout Westeros as the threat of the White Walkers looms ever closer. While on the other side of the Narrow Sea, Drogon roams the lands of Essos searching for his mum.

While Game of Thrones continually offers hair-raising drama and visceral action, I feel as though fans will be in for a treat after such a dour Season 5. Sansa, donning her Direwolf armor, is ready for battle; Tyrion is establishing a new empire full of dragons; Jamie and Cersei seem to be plotting against the High Sparrow to take back King’s Landing; the White Walkers are wrecking havoc beyond the Wall; Arya continues her training with the faceless men; and Drogon and Daernerys looks like they’ll be taking on a Dothraki legion.

A few other morsels to take away from this trailer includes Margaery and her brother are still locked away; Ramsey Bolton is scheming; the Wildlings are back out in the wild; Little Finger is just hanging out; Jorah’s disease is spreading; some woman seems to be challenging Tyrion in Meereen; and we see a soldier donning Targaryen armor stabbing a man through the chest.
