Summary:

  • Dying may not be the hard part, but curating the perfect soundtrack for it is essential.

  • Spotify and Liquid Death collaborate on the Eternal Playlist Urn, a limited-edition Bluetooth speaker urn.

  • The Eternal Playlist Generator creates personalized playlists for users to enjoy even after they’re gone.

Because apparently dying wasn’t the hard part — curating the right soundtrack for it is.

Spotify and Liquid Death announced Monday the launch of the Eternal Playlist Urn, a limited-edition collector’s item that doubles as a wireless Bluetooth speaker. Available now in the U.S. in limited quantities, the urn features a speaker built into its lid, allowing users to connect from any compatible device and stream music even after they’re no longer around to hear it.

As part of the partnership, Spotify is also launching the Eternal Playlist Generator, a tool that creates a personalized playlist based on a user’s listening history and answers to questions like “What’s your eternal vibe?” and “What’s your go-to ghost noise?” The resulting playlist can be shared with friends or synced directly to the urn’s built-in speaker.

Both products are available exclusively to Spotify users in the U.S.

Liquid Death, the water brand best known for marketing canned water with the energy of an energy drink, has made a name for itself through unconventional brand collaborations. The Spotify partnership appears to be a natural extension of that strategy — though it may be the first time either company has targeted a demographic that, by definition, can’t leave a review.

The Eternal Playlist Generator is available now at [Spotify’s website].
