The teachings of Jesus in the New Testament contain numerous statements that Christians view as prophecies- some of which are believed to be fulfilled, some which are believed to be in progress and some which are yet to be fulfilled. Whether they are considered as literal prophecies or symbolic messages or a matter of faith is highly subjective to religious tradition and interpretation. The following are some of the most frequently mentioned ones that most Christians think have come to pass:
The Destruction of The Temple, Jerusalem
In the Gospels, Jesus says that the Temple in Jerusalem would be destroyed, leaving not a single stone of its stone. In 70 CE (some 40 years later), the Second Temple was destroyed by Roman troops in a siege of Jerusalem. This is one of the most obvious prophecies fulfilled by Jesus, by many people.
The Fall of Jerusalem
Jesus also threatened that the armies would surround Jerusalem and it would be ruined. This has been commonly associated with the Roman devastation of the city in 70 CE, during which much of Jerusalem was destroyed, and many people killed or displaced.
His Betrayal

Jesus foretold that one of his disciples would betray him. In the Gospel versions, Judas Iscariot subsequently betrayed Jesus by handing him over to authorities, something believers consider as fulfillment of that prophecy.
Peter’s Denial
Jesus warns Peter that he will betray him three times before the cock crows before he is arrested. The Gospel accounts of this occurrence give the account as promised later that same night.
His Death And Resurrection
Jesus speaks of his suffering, death and resurrection on three days on numerous occasions. Christians feel that these prophecies were realized in the events of crucifixion and resurrection in the New Testament.
Persecution of Followers

Jesus cautioned the disciples that they would be persecuted because of their religion. History of the early Christians reveals that there were imprisonment, exiles and martyrdom of numerous believers, which many people understand as an actualization of this warning.
However, It Is Not Always True That The Gospel is Spread Worldwide
Jesus told him that he would preach his message to the world. Eventually Christianity spread much further than Judea and became one of the largest religions around the world, another prophecy that believers claim has come true.
False Messiahs And False Prophets
Jesus cautioned that false prophets and religious leaders would emerge and be dishonest. Throughout history this has been repeatedly asserted to have happened, and this prophecy is one that many Christians consider to be being fulfilled continuously.
Division And Conflict
Jesus also foretold wars, unrest and divisions among nations. Most of these warnings are interpreted by most people in the world at various times as the reasons why conflicts are ongoing globally, yet most of the interpretations tend to be broad and symbolic.
A Matter of Faith And Interpretation
It is noteworthy that fulfillment of prophecy is closely connected with belief. Historians might get a different meaning of these passages than religious believers, and there is some debate about timing, symbolism, and historical context of some of the predictions. To Christians, though, they are frequently regarded as strong affirmations of the teachings and divine authority of Jesus.
