If you have, you’ve probably seen every famous jumpscare, right? Time to test your knowledge.

This supercut supposedly compiles all the best scenes in movies that are meant to make you gasp in fright. It’s a fun stroll through memories of some of your faves, and probably meant to scare the crap out of you if you aren’t familiar with them. But it raises the question: do jumpscares work without the slow build up? Many horror aficionados who claim jumpscares are already overused for a quick, unearned reaction in modern horror flicks would say no, they don’t. It’s the tension and atmosphere that provides the scare, not a quick shot of something scary. And this supercut may just prove their point.
