  • Have you ever had a missed connection? You’ve seen someone on a train and had instant chemistry? Well, this actually happened to a woman named Devin Custalow.

Devin is a 25-year-old Brooklyn resident who was riding the train with her roommate when she saw a cutie on the platform wearing yellow shoes. According to Devin, when they got on the train — “we kept looking at each other and making eye contact. We were kind of giggling about it.”

And, Devin’s roommate agreed, saying — “they kind of were flirting with their eyes for a while. The chemistry was unreal. Honestly, it was really funny just seeing them interact.”

While on the train, they also kept getting closer and closer to each other. You’d think they’d start talking, but — they didn’t. Devin even missed her stop in hopes that something would happen, but it seemed neither of them had the guts. So, the girls got off the train and the mystery of the yellow shoed man continued.

That’s when Devin decided to post a missed connection to Craigslist. Devin said — “I had no other idea how to try to rekindle or reconnect with him. I also thought I had nothing to lose. The great thing about New York is if you don’t want to see someone again, you never will. That’s also the bad thing.”

Well — somehow, some way — a new hotel in Las Vegas saw her missed connection and decided to help her out with a 20 foot mural in Williamsburg, NY. It read — “I was the brunette in the green pants. You were in yellow shoes, glancing at me, and pretended not to listen to me and my roommate discuss how i wanted to talk to you. I even missed my stop in hopes that you would say something, but you never did. I know you probably won’t see this but if you do, say hi this time. If you’re out there, meet here on Valentine’s Day, 2/14 at 1:00 p.m.”

Spoiler alert — he never showed up. All that effort, and no guy.

So, what do you guys think? Did she make up the story? Was the guy she met on the train just too busy to meet up? Let us know in the comments or on Twitter at @WhatsTrending.
