China Eastern Airlines has denied that its flight attendants were caught on camera having an orgy.
The video first appeared on Chinese social media site Weibo, showing at least four women and two men dancing naked, singing karaoke, and having sex. The Weibo posts alleged that the people in the video are flight attendants for China Eastern Airlines and that the orgy took place in a hotel room in Madrid. But China Eastern has responded. According to social media, they say the individuals in the video do not work for China Eastern, and that the women are likely prostitutes from Thailand.
The original posts have been removed from Weibo, though they’re still being shared widely on Twitter. They’re also still being shared on the Chinese messaging app WeChat. And, according to FreeWeibo, a website that shows content Chinese authorities have censored, the orgy is the most searched topic on Weibo.
China Eastern believes the videos are being shared and misappropriated to their employees in a deliberate effort to harm the company’s reputation. In addition, China Eastern’s stock dropped a few percents after the news broke, though it seems to have stabilized since the airline issued its denial.
At this point, there is really no way to know who is telling the truth.
