Who would Batman be without The Joker, Two-Face and Robin? Probably just a rich guy in a leather suit … who dates a woman in a leather cat suit. Weird, not super. So you can feel free to credit Jerry Robinson with making Batman the iconic Dark Knight he is today.
“Everyone who loves comics owes Jerry a debt of gratitude,” Jim Lee (Co-Publisher of DC Comics) said in a statement earlier today after the news of Jerry’s passing hit the press. News of his death came early this morning with reports that his passing came last night peacefully in his sleep after spending 89 years on this earth.

Needless to say, Jerry’s passing will be mourned far and wide – Twitter has become one of the many places fans have come to voice their love and admiration for such a prolific life.
