The campaign aims to raise $200,000 for underfunded schools and libraries, emphasizing representation and literacy.
Most nonprofit asks arrive as a cold email nobody opens. Tony Weaver Jr. recorded his and sent it straight to Megan Thee Stallion’s Instagram DMs.
The author and creator posted the receipt this week, a screen recording of a 58-second voice note sitting in a message thread with @theestallion and her 32 million followers. The on-screen caption reads “POV: You recruit Meg Thee Stallion to your charity.”

The charity is Nerds for Literacy, the book drive run by his nonprofit Weird Enough. He cuts to the donation page partway through, and the screenshot is from day one with $0 raised against a $200,000 goal. The clip is watermarked nerdsforliteracy.com.
Weaver launched round two of the campaign on Aug. 10 with four weeks to hit $200,000, after a first run that pulled in more than $165,000 to get books into underfunded schools and libraries. Donations buy titles picked by donors, literacy specialists and young readers, purchased from independent bookstores and shipped out to schools.
Weaver has been building toward reach like this for a decade. He started Weird Enough Productions at 20 to push back on how Black boys get portrayed in media, created the webcomic The UnCommons, and in 2018 became the first comic book writer named to Forbes’ 30 Under 30. His 2024 graphic memoir Weirdo, about being bullied as a nerdy kid in Atlanta, earned an Eisner nomination and best-of-the-year picks from People, Publishers Weekly, Kirkus and the New York Public Library.

Megan is a logical target and not only for the follower count. She’s been loudly, publicly anime-pilled for years, which is the exact overlap Weaver’s whole operation runs on.
