  • The Atlantic launched a conversation it should not have. No, this has nothing to do with the election (thank God, am I right). No. This is about something much more important. Milk Chocolate vs. dark chocolate. Me being the in-house candy expert here at What’s Trending, it’s my job to decide this debate. Just like I did with so-called “bad” candy.

The internet, of course, weighed in with their opinions:

  • As the deciding vote (I’m the Vice President of candy, only here for emergencies) I agree with many points the Atlantic made. To be fair to dark chocolate, however, it does have health benefits that milk chocolate simply does not. Luckily, according to Quartz, scientists are working on that. That means that soon, milk chocolate will have no weaknesses. And dark chocolate’s only victory will be stripped.

So yeah, milk chocolate is the winner here. Clearly. I’m not insane. Dark chocolate is good only 75% and below. Milk chocolate is good always. Plus you can put caramel into milk chocolate. You ruin dark chocolate’s health benefits doing that.

However, I do admit white chocolate is the most lacking. People who like white chocolate are wrong. There’s a reason I don’t defend white “chocolate,” which isn’t even chocolate — it’s just dumb candy.
