Actor, musician, and digital creator Page Kennedy has made a name for himself across multiple facets of the entertainment industry. Now, amid the ongoing joint WGA and SAG-AFTRA strike, the SAG-affiliated actor cannot speak on his upcoming film projects, but raps about the need for the strikes in his music.

The multi-hyphenate has appeared in a number of successful films. Notably, Kennedy appeared in “S.W.A.T.” alongside Colin Farrell and Samuel L. Jackson. He later appeared in “The Meg,” “Freaky Deaky” and more. After SAG-AFTRA announced they would be joining the WGA on strike, Kennedy turned to his two other platforms to raise awareness surrounding the issues in the industry that gave way to the strike–TikTok, and music.

Kennedy recently dropped an album titled “A Book Of Pages,” which details numerous different stories surrounding his personal rise to success. The album has several features, including rapper Ice-T.

While some digital creators find themselves slipping through the cracks of the industry and into opportunities that would normally go to union affiliated actors, Kennedy, a veteran actor, finds himself in a unique position.

“I’m a SAG-AFTRA  actor, so of course I am lock and step with my brothers and sisters in the unions. We know that this is a necessary evil, but we will be all the better for it later,” said Kennedy. The strike initially began amid streaming giants hiring mini rooms of writers to skirt the costs of paying writers for full season runs, a lack of protections against AI, and more.

Kennedy frequently shares humorous tidbits of his life online. The actor has amassed a whopping 2.6 million followers on TikTok, where his videos range from music video clips to skits to live documentation of his role in the ongoing strike.

The unionized entertainment workers on strike find themselves fighting for equitable pay and working conditions for newer actors, with even some of the most privileged movie stars stepping in to join the fight. Kennedy hopes that amid the slow premiere summer an agreement can be reached with the streamers.

“I hope for and we hope for fair treatment. Fair transparency from streaming platforms. And the halting of A.I.,” said Kennedy.

While the actor refrained from speaking about his two upcoming film projects so as to remain a part of SAG-AFTRA, he shared that he hopes future viewers will get to know him better through his new album.

“I hope listeners get a better look into the book of Page. I have many chapters and layers and share it all. There’s bars, concepts, stories, features, and vibes on this project,” said Kennedy.

“A Book Of Pages” is on streaming platforms now.
