Alix Earle is putting an end to any speculation about tying the knot with her boyfriend, Braxton Berrios, for the time being.
The influencer, 24, made headlines last month after teasing a potential engagement to Berrios, 29, the Miami Dolphins wide receiver, in a TikTok post. But despite the playful online post, Earle confirmed that she and Berrios do not plan on walking down the aisle anytime soon.
The engagement rumors began on January 17, when Earle participated in a viral TikTok trend that encouraged users to post cryptic updates, urging their followers to follow them on other social media platforms like Instagram. In her video, Earle hinted that a big life event could be coming soon, writing on-screen: “If you guys don’t follow me on IG you’re never going to see when I get engaged… 💍.” She also included the caption, “Going to need the Earle girls to see the ring.”
The post quickly sent fans into a frenzy, speculating about the possibility of an engagement. However, Earle clarified the situation during an appearance at the GQ Bowl in New Orleans on February 7. “That was kind of a wild one of me to pull,” Earle said with a laugh when speaking to E! News. “But no, nothing right now. [We’re] both focused on our careers and having fun, but it’s going great.”
Despite the playful nature of the post, Earle revealed that Berrios was supportive of the joke and wasn’t surprised by the reaction. “It was just a fun joke because everyone was posting these outlandish things with TikTok being banned,” she explained. “I asked Braxton and he was like, ‘Oh my god, go ahead post it. That’s so funny.’” She added, “He was in on it. He wasn’t shocked.”
Berrios and Earle have been dating since 2023, first sparking romance rumors in March of that year. They made their relationship official in July 2023, when they appeared together on the red carpet at the ESPY Awards. More recently, the couple was spotted together again at a pre-Super Bowl party, where Berrios addressed questions about marriage. “Those conversations are kept between us,” he teased when asked about their future plans. “But no, there’s no timeline.”
When speaking to PEOPLE at Media Row in New Orleans earlier this month, Berrios reflected on his relationship with Earle as they celebrated their second anniversary of meeting. He joked that he’s in a phase where many of his close friends are getting married, but added that he and Earle are not rushing into any major life decisions.

“It’s been incredible,” Berrios said of his relationship with Earle, noting that their bond grew even stronger during a challenging period in his life. “Truthfully, with the knee injury, it could’ve gone one of two ways and it brought us a lot closer,” he continued. “We obviously support each other and I think it means a little bit more when somebody supports you when you need them. This was the time [for that] and the first time in our relationship where I felt like I truly needed [her support] for an extended period of time. She showed up for me then and continues to March 15, 2025.”
While marriage may not be on the immediate horizon, Berrios’ comments underscore the deep connection he shares with Earle, and the support they offer each other in both personal and professional challenges. The couple is currently focused on their individual careers, with Earle continuing to build her social media influence and Berrios gearing up for the next season of his football career.
Despite their playful social media posts and public appearances, both Earle and Berrios have made it clear that they are enjoying their relationship without putting any pressure on the future.
