Colton Underwood and Jordan C. Brown have officially entered parenthood. The former “Bachelor” star announced the arrival of their first child, a son named Bishop Colton Brown-Underwood, on Monday, September 30. The baby was born on Thursday, September 26, 2024.
Underwood, 32, shared the joyous news on Instagram, expressing his excitement in a heartfelt caption. “Our world is a million times better with you in it. Bishop Colton Brown-Underwood 💙 September 26th, 2024,” he wrote, accompanied by several touching photos of their newborn.
One of the photos features Underwood and Brown holding baby Bishop in a carrier, marking their first family portrait as a trio. Other images capture the sleeping infant, his tiny hand grasping his father’s finger in a tender moment.
In May, Underwood had revealed that he and Brown were expecting their first child via surrogate during an interview with Men’s Health. At that time, he expressed their shared desire for parenthood. “That was one of the things we bonded over early in our relationship. We both wanted to be dads,” Underwood said. “But it’s been such an incredible experience for us to go through this together, and I cannot wait to watch Jordan become a dad.”

The couple’s journey to parenthood began two years ago, coinciding with their wedding planning. Underwood discussed their experience with in vitro fertilization (IVF) and surrogacy in a podcast titled “Daddyhood,” where he detailed the challenges and joys of the process. The couple created and froze embryos, and they worked closely with their surrogate, whose identity remains private.
In February, Underwood shared more about their path to fatherhood. “Our doctor actually let our surrogate tell us, which I thought was so special. She got to text us and share the exciting news, and it was such a moment of, I think, relief for us,” he recalled. “We’re so fortunate and lucky to have her, but her making us feel a part of it too was really special.”

Upon learning they were going to be parents, Underwood noted that he and Brown took two days to fully absorb the news before sharing it with family and friends. “Everybody’s been so excited. My family especially knows how long I’ve wanted to be a dad, and they just know my journey of coming out,” he said. “Wanting to be a father was something that kept me in the closet for a long time. So for me to be able to say we’re pregnant is really big and really emotional.”
In the lead-up to the birth, Underwood and Brown celebrated their first wedding anniversary on May 13, a milestone that further emphasized their journey toward becoming a family. Underwood’s openness about his experiences, including his struggles with identity and acceptance, has resonated with many. His journey has not only involved personal growth but also a commitment to building a family.
As they embark on this new chapter of their lives, Underwood and Brown have received overwhelming support from fans and friends alike. Social media has been abuzz with congratulatory messages, showcasing the couple’s popularity and the public’s interest in their story. Their decision to document their journey has inspired many, reflecting the evolving conversation around family structures and parenting in the modern era.
