Currently, there’s a distressing trend of individuals disrupting musical performances by hurling objects at the performers. Pinpointing the exact cause of this behavior proves challenging, whether it stems from the repercussions of pandemic-induced isolation, a cultural shift exacerbated by social media’s focus on self-importance, or simply an uptick in rudeness. Regardless of the root cause, it’s a troubling issue. Surprisingly, not even A-listers like Harry Styles are immune, but perhaps no one bears the brunt of it quite like Bebe Rexha.

Bebe Rexha, the dance-pop sensation hailing from Staten Island, faced a harrowing experience last year during a New York show. Her performance abruptly ended when she was struck in the face by a smartphone flung from the audience. The assailant, arrested for assault, callously claimed it was meant as a joke. Rexha’s injury required medical attention, including stitches. Despite successfully navigating both weekends of Coachella without incident, her luck took a downturn at a free concert in Green Bay, Wisconsin.

Taking the stage outside Lambeau Field as part of Green Bay’s Summer Fun Days Showcase, Bebe Rexha encountered a disruptive audience member. The Green Bay Press Gazette reported that after only thirty minutes, she halted her performance due to someone repeatedly hurling plastic bottles. Asserting her stance, she insisted that the offender be removed for the show to continue, emphasizing, “Please take them out, out, out, out… out, out… Let’s just have fun. That guy doesn’t exist. He’s not messing up our vibe, okay?”

On TikTok, an attendee captured another interruption, with Rexha addressing the situation once more. In the video, she expressed her disdain, stating, “If you wanna hit me in the face, I had them press charges on the other guy. I would love to become richer… But I’m not, I’m not inviting that. Please. It’s a joke.”

Rexha went on to make a surprise performance at West Hollywood Pride alongside Diplo for a snippet of their upcoming single.
