Britney Spears is spoke out to the public claiming that she will never be making music ever again and has potentially deactivated her account.
This all comes as reports came to light that the singer was tapping Charli XCX and even Julia Michaels to write the upcoming 10th studio album.
Britney Spears took to Instagram to clear things up saying that she is not in fact working on an album as of this time. Fans were shocked to hear the news when the star spoke out online about her future plans.
Britney Spears wrote, “Just so we’re clear most of the news is trash !!! They keep saying I’m turning to random people to do a new album … I will never return to the music industry !!!”
She also went on to add, “When I write, I write for fun or I write for other people !!!” she elaborated. “For those of you who have read my book, there’s loads you don’t know about me …”
Even though Spears claims that she does not have any interest whatsoever in getting behind a studio microphone ever again, the “Gimme More” singer did admit that she has written over 20 songs for other people” over the last two years. Spears admitted she has been a ghostwriter and honestly enjoys it that way.
Spears went on to address online speculation that her record-breaking memoir “The Woman in Me” which was released on October 24th, 2023 was also released without her permission.

Spears stated, “People are also saying MY BOOK WAS RELEASED WITHOUT MY APPROVAL ILLEGALLY and that’s far from the truth,” she wrote. “ … have you read the news these days ??? I’m so LOVED and blessed !!!”
Spears’ latest declaration about music comes after tabloids broke news that Charli XCX and Julia Michaels were tapped to pen song for the upcoming installment in the Grammy winner’s discography.
Sources noted that the pop singer has not recorded any new material as of yet, and the project is still taking shape. According to Rolling Stone, producer Cirkut and songwriter Jason Evigan are on board to produce for Spears, but there is no word on when this could potentially take place.
Sources told Rolling Stone that Spears’ management and A&R “are trying to get her excited for the music” despite her disinterest. Michael’s has crafted several tracks for Spears’ 2016 album “Glory.”
