Actress and singer Cher finally made her long anticipated appearance on journalist Amelia Dimoldenberg’s popular “Chicken Shop Date” YouTube channel. The iconic singer and actress is known for her hits “Believe” “If I Could Turn Back Time” and more, along with her Oscar winning role in “Moonstruck.” Outside of her impressive decades long career in the entertainment industry, Cher is known for consistently remaining an outspoken feminist. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, she is known to have made a number of highly quotable remarks.

Among said remarks are “My mother always told me to marry a rich man. I said mom, I am a rich man,” and when asked if men were important, responding “like, for what?” Dimoldenberg naturally asked Cher if she continues to stand by these viewpoints decades after she made such memorable statements. In response, she quipped that “you can live without them [men].”

Her response is receiving praise across social media for her consistency. In recent years, Cher has starred in “Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again”, released a new album for the holiday season titled “Christmas,” and become engaged to producer and musician Alexander Edwards.

Outside of revisiting her most iconic moments, Cher recommended that all women should date a younger man at least once, and that her secret to never being heartbroken is simply being “cute.” She also claimed to have turned down a young Elvis Presley because she was “frightened.” Many continue to applaud Dimoldenberg for booking Cher as a guest, as her unique interview style combined with her journalistic integrity has created a specific entertainment news niche that continues to grow.

She has previously had a number of celebrities appear on the show, from Phoebe Bridgers to Jennifer Lawrence, Dominic Fike, and many more in between. Additionally, she has hosted at several major red carpet events, from the Golden Globes to the Oscars. Several of her carpet hosting moments, notably an interview with Andrew Garfield, have cemented her viral fame.

Dimoldenberg famously sits down with her guests at a fried chicken shop in London, U.K., and asks them a combination of personal and career related questions in a sarcastically deadpan tone. Her style is also reflected in her carpet interviews.

It is unclear who Amelia’s next date will be, but Cher’s distaste for chicken nuggets and golden advice will live on.
